A brownfield may be property where expansion, redevelopment or reuse may be complicated by suspected contamination. Brownfield sites can also be blighted, functionally obsolete or historic structures. And now, any property that will be developed with homes for households earning up to 120% of Schoolcraft County’s Area Median Income qualifies for brownfield incentives.
-A public authority created to facilitate development countywide through tax increment financing (TIF), grants, loans, and other incentives.
-Established under the Brownfield Redevelopment Refinancing Act (Act 381 of 1996, as amended). The BRA is not a regulatory agency with enforcement authority.
-The BRA helps participating municipalities and developers navigate and secure incentives
